When you open ChatGPT you will see a prompt field at the bottom. Here you can make your prompts, this can be for example a question or a specific request to ChatGPT. After sending the request, you will ideally receive the correct answer quickly.
ChatGPT is incredibly intelligent, no question about it
ChatGPT is incredibly intelligent, no question about it, but it still can’t understand all requests the way a human could. If you ask it a question and it refuses to answer or gives an incorrect answer, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it can’t answer the question correctly. It could be because the question is phrased in such a way that it is not understood. If you run into situations where ChatGPT gives incorrect answers or refuses to answer, try paraphrasing your questions repeatedly.
If you ask ChatGPT to explain quantum computing to you, for example, it would most likely give you an answer similar to the one your professor already gave in the lecture. Or maybe a Wikipedia-style answer with lots of complicated terms that you don’t understand. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. You can make ChatGPT give answers at the level of complexity you want. How to do that? Quite simply, you describe the level of complexity in your prompts.
For example, it can look like this:
Explain as if I were five (years old).
Explain with comprehensible examples
Explain as if you were playing soccer (you can replace soccer with any sport you are familiar with)
To illustrate how precise your prompt can be see the following example at the bottom of the slides:
