Logic Apps is a serverless application framework from Azure which allows you to create application without code. It is a simple and easy cloud Service, used to automate many workflows that your business has, without having to worry about coding. Another great advantage is that Logic Apps is a consumption-based billing service, which charges you just for the features that you really used.
Called as an iPaas (Integration Platform as a Service), Logic Apps helps you to integrate apps, data, systems and services, and to design and build scalable solutions. Using it, you can develop business processes, communication B2B (business-to-business) and enterprise application integration (EAI), hosting the app in the cloud, on premises systems (locally) or both.
This cloud service has hundreds of connectors which allows your business to build integration solutions and services such as SQL Server, Office 365, Dynamics, Salesforce, BizTalk, SAP, Oracle DB, file shares, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and many others. The large number of connectors it has for input and output make it very easy to create complex scenarios, on a simple way.
The connectors provide triggers, actions, or both for creating logic apps that securely access and process data in real time. A trigger can start the Logic Apps workflow, which consists of one or many activities together (actions). The actions are all the possible steps in the flow, such as triggers, scopes, for-each loops, do-until loops, control flow steps like conditions, calls to connectors, calls to native actions and others. They are also the parameter for billing in the consumption pricing model.
Although the Logic Apps do not need coding, you are also able to add some code if you want. As the design has many connected blocks for your workflow, one of these blocks can be an Azure Function which is a piece of code.
Using Logic Apps, it is possible to focus more on strategies once you will not have to worry about building, hosting, scaling, managing, maintaining, and monitoring your apps. It is a great facilitator to businesses, because it can run smarter, saving time and being more effective.
